The most innovative and fastest growing telecommunications in
Nigeria, Etisalat has partnered with a new global device manufacturing company,
SOLO to delight telecommunications consumers in Nigeria with exciting and
affordable offerings.
Under the arrangement, Etisalat would be providing six and 12
months bundle data offerings respectively on two SOLO Smartphone devices – SOLO
S350 and SOLO S450 being launched in Nigeria for the first time in November
2013.
Acting Chief Executive Officer, Etisalat Nigeria, Matthew
Willsher expressed excitement over the new partnership, describing Etisalat and
SOLO as “two innovative brands focused on delighting telecoms customers in
Nigeria. We at Etisalat are happy with this partnership because the SOLO
Smartphone devices support our desire to offer the most rewarding and
innovative telecommunications products and services to our customers.”
Founder and Global CEO at SOLO, Tayo Ogundipe, echoed similar
sentiments, and expressed delight that Etisalat has offered his company “a
platform to reach the Nigerian market with innovations bound to take the market
by storm in the way that only a partnership with Etisalat can.”
According to him, the SOLO S350 is a 3.5” screen Android
Jelly Bean 4.1 Smartphone with Dual SIM capabilities, 4GB of Internal memory
with 8GB of SD card, which is expandable up to 32GB. The device comes bundled
with SOLO Music, SOLO proprietary content experience that offers free,
unlimited streaming and download access to up to 20 million songs for the life
of the device! The easy to use interface includes a SOLO Music Widget on the
home page that enables easy access to SOLO Music, right out-of-the box.
The device is Google (GMS) certified and offers full access
to the Android Marketplace, including BBM services. The SOLO S350 comes bundled
with very generous free data services from Etisalat Nigeria, completing the
strong consumer experience. The elegantly designed device with superior
features and first-of-its-kind free music offering is expected to retail for
less than N20,000.
The SOLO S450 is a 4.5” screen, Android Jelly Bean 4.2
Smartphone with Dual SIM capabilities and 16GB of internal memory, coupled with
SD card capabilities of up to 32GB. The SOLO S450 also comes bundled with SOLO
Music, our proprietary content experience that offers free, unlimited streaming
and download access to up to 20 million songs for the life of the device!
This elegant Smartphone will also be launched with another
market first--SOLO View, a digital video rental service that enables customers
to stream, download and store both Nigerian and International videos for up to
two weeks on their mobile devices. SOLO View’s content will be delivered
through dedicated SOLO Hotspot Kiosks that enables the download of full-length
movies in less than three minutes! The easy to use interface will include both
SOLO Music and SOLO View Widgets on the home page that enable easy access to
SOLO Music and SOLO View, right out-of-the box.
The SOLO S450 is a GMS certified device that offers full
access to Android Market place including BBM services and will be bundled with
one year of free data services from our Nigerian operator partners. This
